Golden Corral, the saga continues...

There are about 1.2 gazillion places to eat down here.

There's any one of a number of specialty restaraunts...

Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Cantonese, Russian.

Southern, western, eastern, middle eastern, asian and traditional.

Mexican eateries alone must account for half the restaraunts in the cities.

On top of that, you'll see every chain store imaginable.

Carl's Jr.

Chucky Cheese
Long John Silver's

Burger King

Dairy Queen

IN-N-OUT

Jack in the Box

McD's

Wendy's

KFC

Panda Express

and

many more you've never even heard of.

Then of course there's Tom's and my favorite...

The Golden Corral.

You've no doubt seen the commercials on the tele back home, all you can eat steak/shrimp/salad/jello.

The food is good, the service is good and for $11.99, you can gorge yourself until you

a)   drop
b)   drop dead
c)   burst at the buckle
d)   feel you've got your money's worth.

The variety is nothing short of  amazing.  You won't find anything to rival the GC this side of Vegas!

Only the Rio offers better, and it's only one hotel/casino.

I stopped by the other day, more as a tribute to Tommy G than myself, and when I sent a text with the simple message:

"Guess where I am?"

His reply was instant;

"GC!"

I like to cook and indeed I had some pretty tasty leftovers from last night's dinner, but Friday I just felt like 'eating' out and the only solution was scootering over to Northern and the Golden Corral.

Today, Mother's Day... I went looking at cars and on the way back, stopped in once again, thinking I'd grab an early dinner.

Some of you may know that Mother's Day is the most common single day eat out event of the year for Americans and I suspect Cnds too.

Today, the parking lot was full to overflowing and staff had people lined up outside the shaded auxillary entrance door right around the corner of the building.  Now they seat you pretty quick but, standing in the heat on MD wasn't in the cards for me...

I scooted across the parking lot to Carl's, which by the way I have to say, makes the best burgers of anyone I've tried.  They are real sized, not like the shrinking fascimilies most fast food places now serve... "Squze me... I ordered the grown up burger, not the kiddie meal..."  reply "sir that is the adult burger, the kiddie meals are half that size!"

Not at Carl's.

There you get a burger that barely fits in both hands.

I had a Coke on the rocks to wash it down and could barely finish my meal, it was so humongus!

This I might ad, is my first burger and coke since my arrival 10 days ago, proud of me?
